Back in the days when the Hatters had Christian Walton between the sticks, I seem to recall mutterings from Nathan Jones that if the opportunity arose he`d do his best to make Walton a permanent member of the Hatters squad.

Sadly, for Luton Town, Walton exited Kenilworth Road when the injury situation at his parent club, Brighton and Hove Albion, saw him recalled.

With Walton gone, the Hatters hopes of promotion suffered as Nathan Jones desperately tried to fill the void.

Some say that losing Walton was a key point in our season taking a downward turn and the Hatters eventually missing out on promotion.

But, returning to the possibility of Walton becoming a permanent Hatter, Brighton and Hove Albion have their own ideas on that status with it being announced by local media vehicle, The Argus that Walton has agreed to put pen-to-paper on a new four-year deal with the newly promoted Premier League club.

Good news for Brighton but not for those of us who wanted Walton at Kenilworth Road after realising just what huge potential the keeper has.
