Okay, I slipped up!

In my eagerness to welcome Portsmouth to Kenilworth Road and gain revenge for our early season defeat, with the result that, hopefully, we’ll end up top of League One, I forget one tiny thing.

Before we welcome Portsmouth to our quaint neck of the woods in front of what should be another capacity crowd, there’s the small matter of an away trip.

This weekend, the Hatters make the short trip to the seaside, to take on Southend United, at Roots Hall.

Now, like so many others, I’d have preferred a trip to the Essex coast to be in the summer or the latter months of the season, with the UK slipping into a cold spell, I’d imagine that Southend-On-Sea isn’t the most of welcoming places at this time of the year.

But, in all honesty, the weather should be the least of our concerns, getting the three points on offer is far more important.

Southend currently sit in 10th place in the table, on paper they should be perfectly beatable, but they’re also a team that could surprise us.

Hopefully, the Hatters, under the stewardship of Mick Harford, will take the three points on offer and then it’ll be the game that is dominating my thinking, Portsmouth, next Tuesday.

Apologies if my errant rantings over the weekend caused confusion.
