Preparing this article, I must admit to being a little puzzled on two fronts.
The first relates to the fact that so many players, during their careers, wore the shirts of both clubs.
The second relates to the fact that I wondered whether those who played for both clubs are seen as having their reputations diminished by followers of both clubs, I will let you answer that question.
But, pressing on, I have come up with a starting eleven that, on paper, looks quite competitive:
• Goalkeeper – Mark Tyler
• Defender – Clarke Carlisle
• Defender – Alan Garner
• Defender – Sean Dyche
• Defender – Matthew Jackson
• Midfielder – Michael Keen
• Midfielder – Peter Nicholas
• Midfielder – Matthew Spring
• Striker – Paul Furlong
• Striker – Kerry Dixon
• Striker – Andre Gray
• Substitute – Wayne Andrew
As usual, please feel free to add the names of those I have not listed, and you feel deserve a mention.

The former “Goal King” of Vicarage Road, Billy Jennings! It was only a couple of games late on in his career, but nevertheless they count.
