This Saturday, the Hatters Welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Kenilworth Road for a crucial Championship fixture.

The last three Championship games have seen Nathan Jones side claim just one point out of the nine available, a win against Sheffield Wednesday is essential if we are not to get sucked into a dreaded relegation battle.

Ahead of the game, here at Vital Luton Town, we have delved into the history books and tried to put together an XI consisting of players that have worn the shirts of both clubs.

Unfortunately, I had to use a bit of poetic license when it came to the defence, hence the * alongside the name of Paul Hart.

Goalkeeper – Marlon Beresford

Defender – Alan Harper
Defender – Paul Hart*
Defender – Julian Watts

Midfield – Izzy Brown
Midfield – Jacob Butterfield
Midfield – Mark Pembridge
Midfield – Danny Wilson

Striker – Scott Oakes
Striker – Steve Howard
Striker – Jack Marriott

Substitute – Warren Feeney

Can you think of any others that have played for both clubs and could improve the starting XI or just be added to the squad?

Hi MH, i can’t add to the list but i can reveal an interesting stat in that Sheffield Wednesday’s last league win at KR was on our plastic pitch some 32 years ago in 1989, with the Owls failing to win in 7 x attempts since.

With Tuesday’s result feeling more like a defeat than a point gained a win on Saturday would give us four points from our last two home games which won’t look too shabby after all.
