After last night’s depressing defeat, at the hands of QPR, I get the feeling Luton are facing a critical stage of their season.
Sitting in 14th place in the Championship table, it is fair to say that the season was going as well as we had hoped for.
After the struggle to stave off relegation last season, it is refreshing to have so many teams between us and the drop zone.
At the time of writing, Luton are 11 points above the relegation pack, some might say it is a considerable gap.
But, with games coming thick and fast, we are in a situation where it could almost change in an instant.
Indeed, looking at our next 3 Championship fixtures, gives me cause for concern with them all being away from home:
• Bournemouth (a)
• Brentford (a)
• Blackburn (a)
And there is also the small matter of a trip to take on Premier League Chelsea, in an FA Cup tie, also away, sandwiched in between.
The 3 Championship fixtures, on paper, are all difficult, especially the trips to Bournemouth and Brentford, with Blackburn just 2 points above us in the table giving us optimism that the Hatters can get something at Ewood Park.
If Luton do not snap out of the mindset, they displayed last night, where lethargy ruled, that aforementioned 11 point gap could soon be dramatically cut, something the following tweets emphasise:

There is a saying, in the game, that winning becomes a habit, but then again so does losing.
Nathan Jones needs to have some harsh words with the squad when they report for training this morning, otherwise there may well be trouble ahead for the Hatters with a once promising season turning sour.

Luton Fans Shocked At QPR Performance
We have only one championship standard striker who unfortunately continues to miss easy chances.
The rest of the strikers are not anywhere near the standard necessary for us to survive at this level.
We cannot rely on our midfield and defenders to score the goals necessary to win games.
The QPR game was a match we should and must win if we are to survive in this division.
How could a player the calibre of Austin be allowed so much room in the box who was supposed to be marking him . There was plenty of town players marking space but space don’t score goals. Why is Nathan so slow in changing things when we could all see things were not right. We had match winners on the bench but wait to the 81st minute before giving them a chance. Please , Please get a championship striker before it is to late even if it means getting rid of one or more existing so called strikers.
