The Prodigal Son Returns To Luton Town.

Is he the messiah or just a naughty boy is a sentence that springs to mind?

Speechless!

I’m not sure what to say.

Is welcome home the correct phrase or should it be a round of abuse?

I had a sneaking suspicion that Nathan Jones would be coming back, after all the bookmakers are rarely wrong, but something inside me didn’t expect it to happen.

The manner of his departure hurt, it damn well hurt, selling us up the river for a chance to manage Stoke City, hardly the golden opportunity it looked like it perhaps was.

But the man must have guts to be able to walk back into the job he walked out of and it must have taken a monumental effort from Mr Sweet to agree to the appointment.

Hopefully, the wanderlust that befell Nathan in his first spell has been exorcised and we can now move on as a club.

Whether Nathan will get the chance to keep us in the Championship remains to be seen.

But, on the day another huge company associated with orange stunned its workforce, is a change in fortune coming about at Kenilworth Road.

Please feel free to have your say about the return of Nathan.

Good move or bad move?

Hi mad, its not a bad move, as ive said previously, he admitted his mistake…at least he will get us battling to stay up..no square pegs in round holes…if we dont manage to stay up im sure he can get us fighting to get back up….remember eddie howe at bournemouth walked out on them for a year, look at them now…least nj has a chance to put things right without the boo boys for a few games yet..lol…

good point about the boo boys, they might not get to be vocal until late 2020 by which time a minor miracle might have taken place

    Surprised and disappointed!
I always go by the old saying ” Never go back”
Remember we even got relegated in Pleats second coming.

    • Mad Hatter says:

Hi all, i cant understand how people say never go back, they should count how many times, our hero, big mick has gone & come back as a player & in other roles….short memories people. Like i said before, at least we will start playing decent football again…chris i think you starting 11 could be close mate….

  • Chris winter says:

Hi mh, Alan sheehan has left Lincoln. Do not be surprised if he turns up here in a new role.

  • Alan says:

  • Alan says:

Hi chris, would be a good move, think the players would pleased to see him back too…

  • Chris winter says:

Hi mh, so Nathan wants 1 more additional staff. Now I wonder who his choice is. Watch this space let’s see if sheets wants the job

Hi all, I think whether or not you agree to NJ returning to the club, we all know this man will give 100% effort for the club & will sweat blood to try & keep Luton in the championship & even if he fails will do his utmost to get us back up ASAP if indeed Town do ultimately suffer relegation. I personally would rather see him manage Luton despite what has happened with Mick as his assistant (and yes as Alan & Chris have already elded to AS coming back to the fold too which I think would be great as well personally) than have Graham Jones, Gary Brabin & Co still at the club with the prospect of almost certain relegation. I know it’s still the most likely outcome but having said that NJ is familiar with all the players anyway so there would be no settling in period involved, the only problem that I can see is if any of them still harbour resentment toward him for the fashion in which he left. But I’m sure as Mick has already endorsed NJ’s reappointment & the hatchet is also buried as far as GS is concerned the players will recognise these developments & be totally professional about it. I also think as NJ has also already said himself, due to one week of madness he is even more motivated than before to try & put things right & get this great club firing on all cylinders once again. I think for the sake of the club we should look at this as an excellent opportunity for Luton to start playing attractive positive & fearless football once more like it was before NJ left & GJ took over & at least be thankful for that fact alone. Stay safe everybody COYH.

Hi Alistair, while I agree with you to a certain extent I feel that he probably won’t be able to save us. If he does he will be forgiven. He now has apologised so I am going to wait an see if he can rebuild the club.

  • Alistair says:

Hi Chris, I totally agree with you in that NJ probably won’t save us from relegation & as you rightly point out too I think if he can get the club back on a roll like he did the first time he was here then many fans will forgive but maybe not forget. Of course as we all know returning managers are quite often less successful, but although I didn’t agree at all with the way he conducted matters going to Stoke etc & I was just as upset as most fans, he was in hindsight possibly over ambitious & we all make mistakes as humans don’t we. I mean look at the board when they appointed his namesake Graham, which to me was at least as big a mistake as Nathan made, also he did do well here before & he surely has to take some credit for how far we have come since taking over the reigns from the legend John Still. Also he knows how the players tick whereas if the board had appointed a new manager it could have taken a long while for him to have bedded in. I was wondering if that may have been the thinking behind him getting his old job back?

  • Alistair says:

Especially after the debacle involving GJ
