Luton Town is typically not a team that boasts an abundance of international-level talents, but the club will be represented at EURO 2024 and Copa America this year.

The two tournaments will likely distract fans from the upcoming return of the domestic season and delay transfer business for the players involved until late into the summer.

While this could be a problem for the club’s championship return preparation, it is undoubtedly positive that two Kenilworth Road regulars will be present on the international stage.

Here we will look at the two stars that will represent the Hatters in Europe and North America over June and July.

Thomas Kaminski

Thomas Kaminski was Luton’s number-one goalkeeper throughout the recent Premier League campaign and his strong performances have earned him a place in Belgium’s EURO 2024 squad.

The Red Devils could perhaps be described as one of the potential dark horses this year. They are offered at 22/1 to win the competition in football bets online which means they cannot be considered favourites, but Kaminski becoming a European champion can certainly not be ruled out.

The outright joint-favourites in the EURO 2024 winner odds are England and France at 7/2, which means Luton fans will likely have a horse in the race in the tournament’s latter stages, in the form of the Three Lions if not their goalkeeper’s nation.

If Belgium are to surprise and go far it is unlikely Kaminski will play a starring role, if any role at all. He was drafted in to be one of the three goalkeepers with Thibaut Courtois missing out after just recovering from injury.

Koen Casteels appears to be the undisputed starter in goal – leaving no place in the starting XI for Kaminski – but it would still be incredible if a Luton player could be part of a successful squad that goes far in the European Championships this year.

Amari’i Bell

Amari’i Bell will provide representation for the club in the tournament held in the United States this year. He has been capped for Jamaica 17 times and has represented them in the CONCACAF Gold Cup and the Nations League, but the 2024 Copa America should represent the peak of his international career.

Bell’s Jamaica are seen as one of the weakest teams in the competition this summer and it would be an incredible feat if they could simply win one of their group stage fixtures. They will face Mexico, Ecuador and Venezuela in Group B and are seen as outsiders to progress to the knockouts at 9/1 odds.

Whether Bell simply gains valuable experience ahead of his return to club action next season, or he is part of an underdog Jamaica run, he will go down in history as one of the rare Luton players to have starred in a leading international tournament.

Luton fans will be able to follow Kaminski and Bell in their international endeavours this summer, as well as siding with their home-nation biases. There have not been many occasions through history where the club has had more than one player star at an international tournament in a single year.
