Yesterday, whilst sat pondering over how I’d spend another night in lockdown mode, some sensational news broke.
Luton Town officially announced that they’d parted company with Graeme Jones and his backroom staff of Gary Brabin, Inigo Idiakez and Imanol Etxeberria.
The breaking story was something we covered with – luton-axe-graeme-jones-and-his-backroom-staff-shock.
Naturally, with such sensational news breaking, it didn’t take long for the world of social media to go into overdrive.
This morning, while delving through the multitude of posts, I found the following comment that sums up matters perfectly, at the moment:
Never dull following the Town

But is seems I wasn’t the only person shocked by the news as the following posts perfectly illustrate:
No fan of GJ but I didnt see this coming.

Woah. What the hell 🤯😂

But was it the right move to take?
Several posts seem to believe it was:
Music 2 my ears

Hopefully smart business move rather than financial panic 💁♂ Wasn't a great fan of Jones so not exactly disappointed.

Best news in a while

But others are not quite sure:
Really surprising and disappointing.

Just started to have faith in him again
— Ronnie Elkin (@ronnie_elkin1) April 24, 2020
As for me, I reckon he should have been axed months ago.
However, during what are strange and turbulent times for our club, it’s always great to see that old terrace banter surfacing:
Understandable given he hasn’t won a game for weeks
— The Exiled Robin (@TheExiledRobin) April 24, 2020
He's not picked up any points in the last month, not really a shock
— Gareth (@_Garethrobinson) April 24, 2020
no surprise really. when was the last time we won a game ? 😉
— mike thomasⓂ️ (@mikejt67) April 24, 2020
Results speak for themselves, no wins in over a month I guess

As the editor, I’d welcome any thoughts on the shock news that broke yesterday.

Hi mh, just something to ponder about a new manager. Nathan Jones is currently still being paid his salary by Stoke City. He was able to turn down 2 offers of work with div 1 clubs because of this. But with this new situation Stoke are looking to reduce their outgoings like everyone. So maybe if he has been made aware of a forthcoming vacancy things could change an he may be interested in a challenge. Wait an see
Something to ponder over in an article tomorrow 🙂
So!!!he’s gone!!who’s next to try the merrygoround.
That is the $64,000 question as the late Bob Monkhouse used to say!
