This afternoon, the Hatters get the new season underway with an away fixture against Portsmouth.
With Luton having climbed into the third-tier of English football, following their second-place finish, in League Two, last season, the Hatters support will be keen to see their side get off to a good start against a side who are amongst the favourites to achieve promotion.
The game is set to be played in front of what should, quite comfortably, be the biggest crowd of the day in League One with Portsmouth having sold all their tickets for the home sections of the ground;
As expected, @officialpompey have sold out in all the home sections of Fratton Park for tomorrow’s game – make sure you’re there to cheer on the Hatters! You have until 2.30pm this afternoon to get your tickets from the Town Ticket Office! #COYH https://t.co/wBQJuKokiv

Whilst Luton have very few of their allocated tickets left, with some 2400 making the long journey south;

Ahead of the game, we have some early team news for you to digest.
Starting with the home team, Portsmouth.
The Portsmouth boss, Kenny Jackett, has been busy in the transfer market this summer adding Anton Walkes, Petar Durin, Tom Naylor, Ronan Curtis and Lee Curtis to the squad, it’ll be interesting to see how many are given their Portsmouth debuts.
One definite absentee, for the home side, is Jamal Lowe, the winger picked up an ankle in a pre-season friendly and is likely to be absent for the first few matches of the 2018 / 2019 season.
Continuing with the Hatters.
Since our final game of the 2017 / 2018 season, Nathan Jones has added three players to his squad. Andrew Shinnie has joined on a permanent deal from Birmingham City Sonny Bradley arrived from Plymouth and Matty Pearson joined the club from Barnsley. All three could play some part in the action today
As is always the case, ahead of a new season, optimism levels are high, but with regards to Nathan Jones expectations for the season, the boss had this to say to the media;
????️????️ NATHAN JONES | “We can’t second guess anything, but we want to put a challenge in, we believe we’re equipped to do well at this level.”

As for a result, we reckon the Hatters will return with, at least a point.
But how do you see the game going?
