Six players needed – Stein

Brian Stein believes Luton need six new players to have a chance of promotion next season.

Having started well, many of the current squad have failed to maintain their early form. The Town’s dramatic fall down the table has given Stein pause for thought and his belief is that at least six players are required to boost a small squad.

‘To do well next year I think we’ll need another six players because our squad is so small,’ he said.

Alluding to the £3 million sale of Curits Davies to West Bromwich Albion at the end of the August transfer window Stein went on:

‘We got quite a lot of money from the sale of Curtis Davies last summer and the board have said we can have funds to sign players.’



“We know what we could have achieved and if we had had a bigger squad we could have been in the mix.”
