Following the fine win against Southend, in midweek, the Hatters welcome Shrewsbury Town to Kenilworth Road this Saturday, for a League One fixture.

Ahead of what should be an entertaining fixture, here at Vital Luton Town, we’ve selected three items that we feel are essential if the Hatters are to make it two wins on the bounce.

First up is consistency.

Comparing the first half performance given in the crushing defeat away to Peterborough and the first half performance given in the win against Southend United could be described as comparing chalk to cheese. If the Hatters are to realise their ambitions of, possibly, challenging for back-to-back promotions then Nathan Jones will have to ensure there is an element of consistency in the displays given.

Second up is Danny Hylton.

Our favourite striker, having missed the first game of the new season, is back in the groove. His display against Southend, capped by a successful penalty kick, was top-notch. Hylton remains a handful for any defence and the Hatters need to utilise his prowess in this game. If Danny can get amongst the goals this season then those hopes of being involved in the promotion race could become a reality.

Third up is the support.

The Hatters support have been tremendous this season, flocking through the turnstiles in their numbers and relishing the challenge that playing in League One brings. On the rod and also at home, their vociferousness is appreciated by the players who view them as a twelfth man. On Saturday, they need to keep this going, cheer the players to the rafters and drive them to a second consecutive League One win.
