Luton reserves bagged six more goals this afternoon.

Enoch Showunmi scored a hat-trick in a 6-1 win over Stevenage at Kenilworth Road, their second consecutive 6-1 victory, and eighth win in a row, preserving their 100% record in the Pontins League, and taking them to first place in the table.

Trialist striker, James Walker, from Charlton Athletic, scored two goals and looked a very good prospect, and the other was scored by Keith Keane.

As in last week’s encounter with Oxford reserves, matters could have been a lot worse for Stevenage, but keeper Smith made several quality saves.

Showunmi scored in the 16th minute, from the spot after Deeney had been brought down, and in the 38th minute made it 2-0 with a simple tap in.

Stevenage pulled one back but the respite was short before Walker turned in the box and drove home in the 45th minute for 3-1.

Keane opened the second half scoring after 52 minutes, before Enoch completed his hat trick with a second penalty kick for handball, and was then later substituted.

Walker showed great composure in the penalty area for the second time when he rounded up the afternoon’s scoring with some clever footwork culminating in a well-placed shot into the corner of the net.

Luton also fielded a second Charlton trialist, Laurie Wilson, who acquitted himself well in defence.

LUTON: Barrett, Wilson, Mountford, Holmes, Keane, Perrett, Sinclair (Charles 65), Deeney, Walker, Showunmi (Preston 72), Stevens.
