As Nathan Jones continues to reshape his squad as the Hatters contemplate their first season back in League One, today we bid farewell to a player who didn’t quite make a place in the starting eleven his own.

It has been announced that Jordan Cook, who only started once last season, our promotion season, has, after being released by the Hatters, joined Grimsby Town on a two-year deal.

During his two years at Kenilworth Road, after joining the Hatters from Walsall, Cook scored three goals.

Ironically, his final appearance for the Hatters saw him shown a red-card against the very side he has now joined.

Here at Vital Luton, we’re always sad to see a player leave, especially one who always tried his best, but it is a sad fact of life that as Luton continue to climb through the leagues’ decisions have to be made. Financial budgets have to be adhered to and if Cook couldn’t get into the side last season we have to say there’s not much prospect of it happening next season.

Nevertheless, we wish Jordan all the best at Blundell Park and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank him for his contribution to the Kenilworth Road cause.
