On Tuesday night, the Hatters welcome Manchester United, to Kenilworth Road, for a Carabao Cup 3rd round tie.

It is hard to believe that it is some 28 years since our paths crossed, as I was reliably informed by an associate.

On Tuesday, I suspect that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, with bigger prizes to chase, will send a squad south that may contain more than an element of fringe players and youngsters.

That could play into Luton’s hands with Nathan Jones side quite capable, on the night, of producing a cup shock.

Sadly, there will be no spectators inside the ground as we still suffer the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Therefore, indulge yourselves and take a look at the highlights of the last time the two clubs met, a time when Manchester United were chasing the title and Luton, as Brian Moore seems to take great delight in telling us, involved in our usual battle to stay up.

Enjoy the action from 18-April-1992:

Not sure Luton will play our full strength squad either – lots of players (especially in Midfield/Up top) that need game time. Hylton, Moncur, Shinnie, Clark and Lua Lua come to mind.
