According to the stats, what does tonight have in store for the Hatters?

As we start to concentrate on the task in hand tonight, namely trying to get a result against Sheffield Wednesday, hopefully, a result that will kick-start a huge push to avoiding relegation, we’ve dug deep into the history books to uncover a few facts and figures that may provide inspiration.

First the GOOD

Firstly, recent history shows that the Hatters in games against Sheffield Wednesday, at Kenilworth Road, do well. The last 6 games between the two sides have seen Luton Town win 3 and draw 3. But we should also point out that this is the first game between the two sides, at Kenilworth Road, since 2007.

Secondly, Sheffield Wednesday enter this fixture on a poor run of form, after going 6 games unbeaten, winning 4 and drawing 2, The Owls have won only 1 of their last 8 games, losing 5 and drawing 2.

The BAD

Thirdly, since the start of last season, Sheffield Wednesday have faced the Hatters on 3 occasions, winning 2 and drawing 1. In those 3 games, the Hatters have failed to score a single goal.

The UGLY

The Hatters, unfortunately, on losing 21 league games this season, have lost more games than any other side in the top four divisions of English football.

Fingers crossed tonight is our night.

  • Hi mh, statistically if we have 75% possession statistically if each of players runs 4kms in the game statistically if we win 80%of our tackles. But sw score 1 goal an we don’t then Sheffield win an we don’t. Statistics dont lie do they!!! Football is a simple game of 11 v11 who scored most goals wins thaTs a fact not a statistic!!!

    • How I’d love a player who runs 1k but has a knack of being in the right place to prod the ball home several times in a game 🙂

  • Hope ray and danny understand what jones is on about……if his team talks are the same as his press comments then things r worse than i thought…call the asylum one of the inmates has escaped….surely no one can defend this idiot anymore….2020 wakey wakey….
