Head and neck injuries are always injuries of a worrying kind.

Last night, up at Carlisle United`s Brunton Park, the looks on the Hatters player`s faces told you that young Dan Potts had picked up a worrying injury in a clash in the Luton penalty area.

After a ten-minute delay, Potts was carried off the pitch on a stretcher, with a brace supporting his neck.

Thankfully though, Dan was able to travel home with the remainder of the Hatters party with the boss, Nathan Jones, commenting about the matter to the local media,

‘I believe he’s fine. He’s going to travel back with us, so that’s a positive thing. The protocol you have to go through now with head and neck injuries is you have to go through a long delay. We had it with Scott Cuthbert the other day, but the pleasing thing is Dan is going to be travelling back with us.’

Dan, so we understand, will be given the once over back in Luton to make sure there are no lingering problems that need addressing.

Let`s hope he gets clean bill of health and is available for selection as soon as the rules currently allow.
