This Saturday, down at Fratton Park, the Hatters begin their 2018 / 2019 League One campaign with an intriguing fixture against Portsmouth.
It is a fixture that, we reckon, the bookmakers will make the home side the favourites to win in front of what could be the biggest crowd in the division this weekend.
But the Hatters will make the trip down to the south-coast keen to get their campaign off to a good start, a win would be superb but, in our opinion, a draw would be a decent result, as for a defeat let’s not go there.
Often the tempo for the season is set by the result of the first couple of games, with a visit from Sunderland the following weekend, it isn’t the easiest of starts for Luton.
But, taking one game at a time, we’ll worry about the Portsmouth game first.
Can Luton get a result and if so what sort of starting line-up should Nathan Jones opt for?
With the transfer window closing on the Thursday before the Sunderland game, this Saturday could, with West Brom showing interest in Jack Stacey, be the defenders last game for the Hatters.
