Hatters Match Zone

Portsmouth 1 Luton 0 – The Hatters Fail To Improve On Dismal Record At Fratton Park

|

The Hatters first match back in League One, after a 10-year absence, saw them lose narrowly.

However, despite the loss the Hatters travelling support, which totalled 2,392, will take great heart from a performance whereby a win wouldn’t have flattered Luton.

Trailing at half-time, to a goal in the 16th minute from Jamal Lowe, a player who was rated as doubtful before the match, the Hatters put on a better display in the second half.

Such was the Hatters second-half dominance, it was the away support that you could hear with the Pompey chimes silenced.

But, luck wasn’t on Luton’s side with the best chance they carved out seeing a shot from Collins hit the crossbar.

Nathan Jones rung the changes bringing on three substitutes in order to get that elusive goal but it wasn’t to be with the home side hanging on to register the victory.

Next up for the Hatters, in League One, is a home fixture against Sunderland, hopefully, the Hatters will have better luck in this fixture.
