Police Talk!

Ahead of the fixture with Millwall this Saturday, a fixture that has a kick off of 12:45, Gary Sweet has issued some reassuring words for those fearful of a repeat of those horrific events of 1985.

Sweet has moved quickly to confirm that there will be a larger than normal Police presence inside Kenilworth Road (something many complained about back in 1985 where it was felt there were insufficient numbers), although strangely he`s not sure what the Police presence will be outside with our CEO remarking to the media,

“We don`t know what Police presence there will be outside as they don`t have to tell us how they operate.”

“But there will be more Police than usual inside the stadium.”

“Security measures have been impeccably planned.”

“Fans will be able to enjoy the game, there is nothing to worry about.”

We sincerely hope so, but returning to the Police presence outside the stadium, we can offer the following information we`ve gathered from various sources.

The Bedfordshire Police will be bolstered by Police units form both Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire whilst dog units and mounted units will be brought up from the Thames Valley force.

Here`s to keeping those fingers crossed that come tea-time on Saturday evening, we`ll be talking about what happened on the pitch rather than off of fit.
