Here at Vital Luton we`d like to take some of the credit for the sudden glut, well three, goals young Joe Pigott has scored in the last two matches.

After all, in our musings ahead of the clash with Oxford, on Saturday, we did request that the travelling Hatters support got behind the young striker instead of giving him an indifferent reception, as was the case at Kenilworth Road recently.

With three goals in two games, Joe is now our form striker and we suspect his recent form will see him start this weekend as Luton hope for some luck in grabbing that last promotion play-off place.

However, it appears that Joe`s return to form hasn`t surprised Josh McQuoid who, talking about his team-mate, had this to say to the local media,

“We all know that Joe has had his critics, but he`s coming through now.

“He`s a young lad, he`s good around the changing room, he`s a good character.

“It was pleasing for him to get the goal because he`s been really showing what a force he can be.

“You can see his quality in training and maybe it hadn`t gone his way on the pitch as much as everyone would have liked it to but now it`s really shining through.

“He`s turned well, got his shot away early and thankfully it went in.

“The gaffer has said quite a lot about him, he`s a great finisher, he`s only young and in training he`s enthusiastic.”

Like we said ahead of the Oxford game, all it could take to get Joe going was a goal, it looks like we`ve been proven right.
