Luton seek to gain their first league win away from home this season at in form Oldham Athletic. Troubles off the pitch have led to the players having not been paid since October, but the manager states that they are working as hard as normal and want to help bring the club through the current turmoil.

Vital Quotes:

Oldham Assistant Manager Tommy Wright told his club’s official website:

“Obviously they’ve gone into administration, but Luton have a group of players who have played at a higher level and can hurt you.

“It will be a difficult game; they’re not so good on the road but very good at home and they have an experienced manager and experienced players. If we don’t play well, players like Luton’s will make us pay.

“You can get that siege mentality when things go against you, and everyone pulls together and gives that extra five to ten per cent. Hopefully that won’t happen against us, but we must be careful.”

“They’ve got Paul Furlong up front and he’s scored goals at the highest level, while Darren Currie’s on the left-hand side.

“Maybe Darren’s legs aren’t as quick as they used to be, but he’s got a very good left foot and can hurt you at set plays, on the diagonals and with crosses into the box.

“We’ll have to be careful, because Luton are a decent side.”

On, Kevin Blackwell said:

“Going to Oldham is never an easy task, they are a difficult side to play against. We just want to keep the run going. I’m sure the lads will be able to go there and concentrate on the football. It’s important that we start picking up points away from home now. Every point that we gain is going to be important, so even draws on the road are going to be vital to our season.”
