One of the positive traits we can take from the 5-1 FA Cup victory over Hendon is that we managed to stick a penalty away.
The spot-kick successfully converted by Aaron O`Connor, was the first we`ve scored from in five attempts.
O`Connor, who had a decent game and was probably my man-of-the-match, appears keen to continue taking any spot-kicks, remarking after the tie,
“I`ve never had a problem taking penalties before. I was penalty taker at Rushden.”
“I said if I`m on the pitch and we get one I will step up and take it and was confident to score.”
“If we get any in the future I will gladly step up again and hopefully with the same result.”
“I picked my spot. As soon as I got the ball I new which way I was going to go.”
“I don`t particularly change my run up and do what`s comfortable for me.”
“I think if the keeper goes the right way I`m confident it would have still been a goal.”
That`s what we like to hear, one volunteer is so much better than a pressed man!
