Newell Going Nowhere

Captain Kevin Nicholls has revealed that manager Mike Newell has told the players he is going nowhere.

Newell has been linked with a move away from the club following his outspoken criticism at the delays over Luton’s move to a new stadium.

Moving to reassure players, he had a heart to heart talk with the squad and insisted he would commit to the club for longer if given the chance.

‘Mike Newell is an honest man, and he told us he was very happy at the club,’ Nicholls said. ‘He said that if a longer contract were put in front of him, he would sign it.’
