Last week, here at Vital Luton Town, we covered the possibility of the Hatters securing the services of an exciting teenage striker, currently playing in Canada.

Our article – luton-linked-with-teenage-scoring-sensation – covered our interest in Aribim Pepple, who is currently on the books of the Canadian Premier League side, Cavalry FC.

Today, according to several sources including The 72.

Pepple has been granted ‘overseas leave’ which implies that a move away from Canadian football could very well be on the cards.

But where to?

Apparently, if our referenced source is correct, it could be a straight shoot out between Luton Town and Forest Green Rovers.

Now, I know most of you would suggest Luton must be the preferred move, Pepple will probably be asking himself whether, with Adebayo, Morris and Woodrow up front, if he’ll see much of the action.

Tipping me off about the latest development, the regular Vital Luton visitor, Chris Winter, proposed a solution that could appease all parties.

Chris has suggested Luton could sign the 19-year-old player and then immediately allow him to go out on loan to Forest Green Rovers which would give him the match time he presumably wants whilst also allowing him to further development under the scrutiny of the Hatters backroom staff.

It sounds like a good plan to me, how about you?

Yes that is the sound option for all players in that zone between development within the club and first team football. 1st and 2nd division is the development curve and Nathan’s doing that. We’ve done it for Leicester and Norwich in the past so why not. The player such as Pepple has the best of both worlds- Wages and facilities etc of a Championship club as parent club with opportunity to come in if good enough. No need to transfer again. Pepple would be wise to sign for Luton and learn his trade with FGR and have a club in Championship already to window shop for others. That is what his advisor’s should be saying to him.
