Getting the 2017 / 2018 season off to such a fantastic start, with the Hatters winning 8-2, against Yeovil, sets us up well for the remainder of the campaign.

Issuing a statement of intent is just what we needed if we were going to blow away those awful memories of losing to Blackpool in the League Two Play-Offs last season.

However, we should spare a thought for the 258 Yeovil Town supporters that made the long journey up from the south-west.

Seeing their side hammered in such a fashion must have been very dispiriting.

However, it appears that the Yeovil side are set to reimburse the gallant 258 fans who made the trip with their captain, James Bailly, remarking to the media,

“We let ourselves and the fans down. The performance was unacceptable.

“The support we had at Luton was fantastic and we didn`t repay them how we wanted. Most were still there at the end when our performance didn`t merit that.

“As a group we want to apologise and give the fans their money back.”

A noble gesture that we`re sure the travelling Yeovil support will appreciate.
