One team, after a 2-0 victory, continues its fine unbeaten start to the 2024/2025 EFL Championship, while the other continues to frustrate, disappoint and under-perform.
With 9 games played, Sheffield United look on course, remaining unbeaten, to make a quick return to the Premier League while, Luton Town, with 2 wins out of 9 games played, a meagre 8 points out of 27 available, continue to slide down the table.
Once again, any expectations that the rot could stop came to nothing with the Hatters conceding a goal in each half, with both goals scored by somebody linked with a move, to Kenilworth Road, in the summer – J. Rak-Sakyi.
But the scoreline doesn’t tell the full story.
Once again, if Thomas Kaminski had not been on top of his game, we could have slid to a much heavier defeat, with the Blades looking far sharper and far slicker than anything Luton Town could offer.
If I was a betting man, when it come to tipping who could make an immediate return to the Premier League after being relegated last May, after 9 fixtures,I’d put my hard-earned cash on Burnley and Sheffield United, plus one other, but it certainly wouldn’t be a Luton Town side that have lost their way big time.
Once again, the EFL Championship comes to a two-week halt as we prepare to welcome (not), the second international break of the season.
A lot can happen in that two week period and I’m of the belief that some hard work needs putting in and futures considered, otherwise, next game out, we’re going to be embarrassed by Watford, something that would really rock the boat!

Morning MH, if you have read Alan’s post to me I think it will need more than a break to turn things around for us it would appear that things within are not good and it’s now much more serious and I would suggest that. There must be change or the chaos will Also you may have seen my post about raki and the signs were ominous then.
I’ve read all the comments, a new article now tops the page
Edwards time is up it’s clear to see players don’t want to play for him I don’t think anything will change if Edwards continues to be manager then I’m afraid league one football will be are distination next season as I’ve said many times once players don’t buy into you then your a dead man walking board must act now next 4 games can anybody see a win because I can’t
Morning MH Did the manger watch the Sheffield game on Wednesday night if he did he should never have picked the side he did given the threat down their wings,
I have been patience but have now come to the conclusion we wasted £10 million on a player who has no skills of organising the defence remains static on many occasions and even with his height cannot win many headers at the away end. We spent most of the money on the new stadium instead of players and will be lucky to still be in the championship unless major changes take place. Why are Burnley and Sheffield up there because they used their parachute money more wisely than Luton,
Cannot wait for Tom Lockyer to feel fit enough to come back.
