Luton Town v Birmingham City – Early Team News
The big kick-off is now just a day away, one more sleep before the Hatters new EFL Championship season starts.
To say I’m excited is an understatement, after the sixth-place finish of last season can Luton, with those seven new signings, match that epic season?
It’s always pleasing to get the season underway with a home fixture and the fixture computer obliged when it paired us with Birmingham City, can we take the three points on offer?
That remains to be seen, but on the eve of the game we can bring you the early team news, related to those who will not be available, courtesy of injuries.
Last season we finished with a flurry of injuries, and it seems the start of the new season is starting in the same manner.
Speaking to the media, ahead of the game and as reported by The 72, Nathan Jones will be unable to call upon long term injury victims – James Shea and Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu while Fred Onyedimna, Luke Watson and Luke Freeman are also nursing minor injuries and will not be considered for selection.
As for the starting XI, it remains to be seen how many of the other summer signings start but I’d be surprised if Cauley Woodrow and Ethan Horvath didn’t start.
So, until the official starting XI is announced, I guess we’ll all be playing something of a guessing game.
