I always find this time of the year interesting what with all the transfer speculation doing the rounds.

This close season has seen a slow start to the speculation with clubs juggling, especially those in the Premier League, their financial figures to ensure they don’t breach the rules and incur a possible points deduction.

Nevertheless, rumours are starting to appear and, hopefully, I’ll get around to covering most of them.

The latest rumour to emerge courtesy of the 72.co.uk, is that the Hatters are, seemingly, showing an interest in the Tottenham Hotspur defender Japhet Tanganga.

Tanganga would appear to be surplus to requirements at the North London club and spent last season out on loan, first at the German club Augsburg and then with the EFL Championship side Millwall.

Giving the possible move some thought, seeking to secure the services of 25-year-old Japhet could be an indication that the club have expectations that they could lose Gabe Osho or Teden Mengi (or both) before the 2024 / 2025 season commences.

But, our referenced source, also suggests that having had Tanganga on loan, last season, Millwall are also keen to sign the player on a permanent basis which, in my opinion, could make them favourites to bolster their squad.

Sat here in the editorial chair, I’ll endeavour to keep an eye out for any progress on this possible deal.

I’d also be keen to read your thoughts on the above subject matter in the comment facility beneath this article.

Personally I would hope that there is more value in the rumours of Rowe smith and more defensive midfielders.

I like how you take note that, “interesting what with all the transfer speculation doing the rounds,” rather than saying “Hatters are in talks,” or any other silly season statements. I’d think Millwall would be Japhet’s most likely destination, but LT probably does have a bit more leftover money from the EPL exploits.
