Two steps forward, performance wise, then one almighty step back as the Hatters surrender a 2-0 lead, away to Coventry, to lose 3-2, in stoppage time.
But, for me, the performance the Hatters gave, at the Coventry Building Society Arena, was typical of many we’ve given this season under Rob Edwards.
Come on, be honest, did you think we were worthy of a 2-0 lead, at half-time, yesterday?
I certainly didn’t think we were, I thought Coventry, whose form had been just as poor as ours, were far more cohesive as a unit and must have walked off the pitch, at half time, trying to work out just what had happened.
But, nevertheless, being 2-0 up, rather fortunately, Luton Town should have come away from the game with something, a draw if not a win.
Sadly, we didn’t, instead those on the pitch provided another lacklustre display, one far removed from the gritty ones produced against Watford (h) and Sunderland (h).
After those two performances, I thought we’d turned the corner, even if we did lose the Sunderland game by the odd goal in three.
But apparently not, clearly something is amiss at our club.
The result, instead of lifting us up to mid-table, leaves us floundering in the bottom three and, in my honest opinion, candidates for relegation.
We can’t gloss over it anymore, we’re averaging less than a point a game and if that continues, just a couple of seasons after celebrating promotion to the Premier League, we’ll be looking at trying to scrap our way out of League One!
Come on you Hatters, pull your damn socks up!
Luton Town v West Bromwich Albion?
Luton Town to Win!
West Brom to Win!
A Draw!

Luton Town – When Banter Almost Crosses The Line
At the risk of sounding repetitive a lot of the blame lies at Gary Sweets door. Gets millions in Premier cash but doesn’t buy decent players. Spends it on what will be the best stadium in division 2 if not the Conference. The players who got demoted are deflated and not giving their best and we have signed some rubbish since. I can just see the story in a couple of years – conference to premier to conference. Grow a pair Sweet and get a decent manager and spend some money in the January window.
Whilst I agree some new players are needed, it’s frustrating that players who raised their game in the Premier league seem unable to do so now. On the whole I’m glad we’re investing money in the new ground and not risking it being wasted on overpriced footballers and greedy agents.
Morning MH, Edwards has at least admitted he’s to blame at last. Also I stand by everything I said after the Sunderland game if you remember always aiming down the left and shite balls in while the quality of balls from the right are better!! Also dead ball coach has no imagination it’s the same every time we get one sack him.our best ball of the game came from the middle of the park with a killer ball from Strauss to ade. Moses tried to get forward and his passes always led to dangerous happenings but we failed yet again to convert them. The truth is Edwards and Jones are the same both are blinkered with one system and a loyalty to certain players when fit . Surely now we have to get a goal scorer in January and have to change the system or we will be fighting relegation. But we do still have time now to change our situation but only if we go another way.
Do we have a set-piece specialist?
Pretty sure we do mh I seem to remember a new guy coming in after our last one.
well tell him to pull his rigging finger out 🙂
Both to blame Edwards and the club are taking money out towards the new stadium put it were it should be going to buy quality players
Edwards has had his chance time to get him a taxi out of our club playing long ball which is poor to watch as I have said before players do not want to play for him and don’t like the system he plays if this form continues it’s league one football next season Gary Sweet wake up and smell the coffee
