Two successive wins, in the EFL Championship, must surely have eased any pressure building up on Rob Edwards.
The gaffer has, I believe, unfairly, taken a bit of stick from supporters, after the Hatters far from ideal start to the 2024/2025 season.
But, with six points out of the last six available, attained, the Hatters are starting to climb the table, with Luton Town now sitting in 15th place in the table.
Yesterday though, it has to be said, was a hard grind, with the Hatters having to come from behind to win.
Indeed, I have a degree of sympathy for Sheffield Wednesday who, in some peoples’ eyes, didn’t deserve to lose.
Following the win and talking to the BBC, RoB Edwards had this to say about the game:
“I don’t think we should have been a goal down, but we have a squad for a reason and they made an impact today, absolutely.”
I couldn’t agree more, for once the gaffer introduced substitutes at the precise time they were needed and it paid dividends.
Continuing, the gaffer added:
“The hardest part of my job is disappointing people, whether it’s the fans when we don’t win or the players when they don’t play.”
Coming on as a substitute is never easy, you have to slot into the game, pick up the pace of the game and bring about the changes necessitated.
Something Carlton Morris executed perfectly, with Rob further adding:
“They have to be focused, ready, know their jobs and be motivated, and Carlton is all of those things. He will get the headlines and rightly so, but he is all of those things, and I’m delighted for him.”
The big question now being who leads the attack against Plymouth Argyle, next Friday evening?

Luton Town – Late, Late Show Sees The Hatters Grab That Vital Win
Edwards is far too slow responding to the game he has no defence about how he’s going about his job you must be proactive not reactive.
I don’t think Eli can have any gripes about being dropped, i would be in favour of seeing how a Morris / Taylor combo works.
Mengi doesn’t look the same player when on the left or right in a 3, much better when central when playing with 4 at the back.
Not sure if it was Mengi, Kaminski or RE who finally stopped us trying to play out from the back but that along with the subs was the reason we won yesterday- only one team from the UK can successfully play out from the back and that is Man City – LTFC are so predictable when they play out from the back – they need to vary it and go back to 4-4-2 I think RE was a bit p***ed when he saw that the fans were right – no fan is saying Edwards out but rather, dont be so stubburn!! RE seemed to be sulking all game – just accept you made an error and move on!
Maybe he should also try not to hold grudges with players especially after sabotaging Taylor’s move then rotting him on the bench
