Another game played, another game lost and, currently, the Hatters occupy 16th place in the EFL Championship.
Although I’ll admit that I’m pretty certain we’ll drop down the table once the remainder of the the 7th round of fixtures are completed today.
With games played, the Hatters have accumulated just 7 points out of the 21 possible, more relegation form than promotion form.
Indeed, it is fair to say that the pressure on Rob Edwards is mounting along with the supports frustration.
Following the 3-1 defeat, at the hands of a Wayne Rooney managed Plymouth Argyle, at Home Park, and as reported by the BBC, the gaffer had to say about the shenanigans we’d just witnessed:
“Credit to the opposition, at both ends of the pitch they were better – they were more ruthless at one end and defended better at the other.”
Pretty damning when you consider that, ahead of the game, Plymouth Argyle had only won 1 out of the 6 they’d played.
Continuing Rob added:
“I think we got into their final third 40-odd times, twice as often as they did, but we didn’t make their goalkeeper work enough.
“We weren’t clinical enough at one and end then didn’t defend well enough at the other -it’s not a good recipe to win a football match.”
But, despite the 40-odd times, apart from the excellent finish from Victor Moses, we rarely looked like scoring, indeed it took a couple of fine saves from Thomas Kaminski to keep us in the game.
Futher continuing, Rob added:
“It’s really frustrating to come away losing a game talking about both ends of the pitch.”
It seems a long time ago when, playing free-flowing football, we kept the opposition pinned back in their own half!
Never mind, time to rectify things, on Tuesday, when Oxford United visit Kenilworth Road, although should we be worried that Oxford sit in a lofty 9th place in the EFL Championship table and could be the latest to turn us over?

The title should be the thoughts of dishonest Bob
Lovely, genuine person but a crap manager. The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
