Another defeat, this time at the hands of Coventry City, saw the Hatters travelling back to Bedfordshire with disappointment all over their faces.

Leading 2-0 at half-time, albeit rather fortunately, Luton Town capitulated, in the second-half, to lose 3-2.

To me there’s nothing worse than being on an away trip, leading comfortably and then get beaten, in stoppage time, then seeing the home support berate us for being so shoddy.

But, once again, this season it is becoming a common scenario and one that isn’t getting any easier as the campaign progresses.

As I type, we occupy one of the relegation places in the EFL Championship table, something I reckon none of us expected when the season started back in August.

After beating Watford, so comfortably, last Saturday, there was a hint of a smile on Rob Edwards face, but yesterday he, once again, being interviewed by the media and as reported by the BBC, looked to be a man under pressure, taking deep breaths as tried to explain what we’d just witnessed, remarking:

“It’s on me. I own it. We were 2-0 up and lost 3-2. I know there will be a lot of frustration and questions asked.”

“But there’s no-one else to blame but me. The players are giving me everything but we lost the game from a commanding position.”

Indeed we did, a commanding position that, on the balance of play at half-time, we were fortunate to be in.

Continuing, Rob added:

“Coventry were very effective and it was hard to get any foothold in the game.”

Sorry! What more of a foothold do you need than a 2-0 lead, many will ask?

This season isn’t turning out as we’d hoped, indeed it is developing into something we feared, but what can we change to turn things around?
