So now the big unanswered question is not when Rob Edwards will be axed, but who will be replacing him.
Rob’s tenure as our gaffer ended today, with an official announcement from the club, something we covered in an earlier article – luton-town-call-time-on-the-reign-of-rob-edwards.
But, who is next in line to take over the managerial hot seat and halt the downward spiral the club is experiencing on the pitch, a spiral that could, if not halted, throw us through the relegation trap door, making it back-to-back relegation.
Already, it would appear a list is forming, with the following (and their current odds) being in contention:
• Steve Cooper – 2-1
• Nathan Jones – 4-1
• David Moyes – 4-1
• Gary O’Neil – 5-1
• Russell Martin – 7-1
But which of those would be your preference?
Could we be about to witness a third spell for Nathan Jones at Kenilworth Road.
Please feel free to have your say on who you would like to see appointed as the next manager of Luton Town Football Club?
Just drop us a name (or two) in the comment facility beneath this article.

Luton Town – Supporters Reactions To Edwards Axing
Surprised not to see Lennon on your list or Schumacher. Moyes to expensive? Cooper yes O’Neill yes the rest no .
financing any of them may be troublesome!
Liam rosenier
Good shout, wouldn’t be too costly!
Unlikely but if Gary O’Neil is available, I’m all in. Otherwise from Prince charming to the frog, give me Cooper. COYH.
I don’t what happened with rosenier at hull listened to several interviews came across as very smart guy
new guy isn’t doing much better!
no to lennon or martin. the others maybe. they need to choose wisely and quickly before it’s too late to make a big difference.
there should be a results and position bonus built into a contract whoever it is
a lot don’t seem to want Lennon!
Could be something to do with many Luton supporters are rangers fans in Scotland as well lol
That’s my reasoning but if he gets the nod we’ll have to back him, won’t we?
You might MH but I will never except him or my boy or grandson.
Point taken
And just as many are Celtic fans.
I’d take Lennon in a shot given what he achieved at what is now – partly thanks to him- Scotland’s most successful team.
Ryan Lowe. Maybe a bit risky?
he’d be a hit or a miss, nothing in between!
Liam Rosenior would be my choice
Gary O’Neill and Steve Cooper look the best two candidates to me. Both have the pedigree to get us out of trouble and challenging for promotion next year. Russell Martin would be a cautious third choice for me. No to Nathan Jones. He has had his turn (twice) and his record is not great. Just one promotion from League Two. His proven disloyalty to Luton and poor communication skills are not what the club needs.
Steve Cooper for me
I could handle that, but he might want a rest to recharge his batteries!
? Sean Dyche as he is also available
out of the frying pan and into the fire? Think he might need a rest!
I am sure Sean Dyce was linked with Luton before and I kind of remember him saying in during an interview in respect of Luton ” with all due respect I think I have moved on”. Would Luton even want him with his style of football.
Probably Steve Cooper from that list. David Wagner is being mentioned elsewhere.
Wagner? Not for me!
I agree that it should be a NO to NJ, due to deserting the ship twice already.
Dyche has just got the boot from Everton………coincidence? Haha
but Nathan has run out of clubs to leave us for of the red and white striped variety 🙂
I’ll take Cooper. I wouldn’t take Jones.
O’Neil or Cooper are thee only ones I would look at any news on the transfer front dud here isaha Jones was about to sign
makes you wonder, with Edwards leaving, who is pulling the transfer strings?
I thought Mick Harford was head of recruitment ?
No 1 Sean Dyche
No 2 David Moyes
No 3 Steve Cooper
NOT NATHAN JONES
Matt Bloomfield?
can we afford any of them?
Cooper for me has the best track record
lets hope the new manager, brings some luck with him.he is going to need it. COYH.
David Wagner is on the way I think.
Anyone but Cooper please!!
I’ve seen The list of possible managers. But how about Sean Dyche,as Everton have sacked him today.Especially as he played for Luton in the past.Plus he can get a team promoted from the Championship. We couldn’t do any worse.
Nathan Jones
David Moyes
how about Steve Robinson ?
spent 5 or 6 years with us & has Luton in his DNA .
Was really popular with the fans too.
All the former premiere league managers would be too expensive & used to splashing crazy money on transfers.
Need someone who could get talent in at affordable prices , the Luton way.
so many of our big bucks signings over the decades disapointed , the latest was Ryan Giles .
good shout
Sean Dyche or Steve Robinson for
Hopefully we’ll find out this week, in time for the Preston North End game
