Luton Town – One Way Traffic

It has been interesting, in recent times, to watch the transfer movement between Luton Town and Charlton Athletic.

Since our former boss, Nathan Jones, took over the managerial hot seat at the South London club, there has been a steady procession of Luton Town players moving to the Valley with, off the top of my head, the following moving in a southerly direction:

• Lloyd Jones
• Luke Berry
• Allan Campbell
• Dan Potts
• Danny Hylton

Whilst the following moved to Chalton Athletic but have, subsequently, moved on:

• Harry Isted
• Louis Watson

and

• Paul Hart

in a managerial assistant role.

Plus, I can also recall

• Jed Steer

after his injury curtailed loan spell at Kenilworth Road coming to an early end, spending time at Charlton before joining the Hatters.

With such heavy traffic, I thought I’d revisit the ‘They Played for Both’ article relating to Charlton Athletic – they-played-for-both-charlton-athletic – to see if it warranted any changes.

The original XI looked as thus:

Goalkeeper – Simon Royce

Defender – Martin Cranie
Defender – Gary Doherty
Defender – Paul Elliott
Defender – Matt Jackson

Midfielder – Mark Aizlewood
Midfielder – Kevin Nicholls
Midfielder – Matthew Spring

Forward – Vic Halom
Forward – Paul Walsh
Forward – Elliott Lee

Substitute – Kevin Foley

After mulling the situation over, I opted to make the following changes:

Goalkeeper – Harry Isted

Defender – Martin Cranie
Defender – Gary Doherty
Defender – Paul Elliott
Defender – Matt Jackson

Midfielder – Mark Aizlewood
Midfielder – Kevin Nicholls
Midfielder – Matthew Spring
Midfielder – Luke Berry

Forward – Vic Halom
Forward – Paul Walsh

Substitute – Danny Hylton

Is it an XI you concur with, or would you beg to differ?
