Luton Town -Looking Ahead To A Week Saturday

There’s no doubting that the Hatters next two games are tough fixtures as we seek to add further points to our current total of five.

On paper, games against Liverpool (h) and Manchester United (a), could see the Hatters suffering losses in both games and, quite possibly, dropping further adrift of safety when it comes to our survival fight.

But while I’d be delighted to get anything at all from the home fixture against Liverpool, this coming Sunday, I reckon the Manchester United fixture, the following weekend, is one from which we can get at least a point.

Manchester United have had a terrible start to their season losing 5 home games out of the 10 they have played.

Eric Ten Hag is coming under increasing pressure to turn things around and, already, there are mutterings that his time at Old Trafford could be coming to an end.

Part of me wishes that the fixtures were the other way around, Manchester United this weekend and Liverpool being next weekend.

Between now and when we do face Manchester United, at Old Trafford, Eric Ten Hag has two fixtures in which to turn the clubs’ fortunes around, with Manchester United facing Fulham (a) and then travelling to Copenhagen for a Champions League fixture.

But if, Manchester United fail to impress in those two games and suffer more defeats, could the services of Ten Hag be dispensed with before the Hatters arrive at The Theatre of Dreams?

Personally, I hope not, not because I have any affections towards the famous club, or their manager, but simply because a new man in the hot seat could see a much-improved Manchester United with everyone playing for their futures. A far more difficult proposition I fear.

Like I say, I wish it was Manchester United this weekend and then Liverpool next weekend!
