Our latest poll asked a very interesting question relating to the Hatters managerial hot-seat.
It simply asked whether, after Luton’s poor start to the season, a start that has seen the Hatters win just 2 of their opening 9 EFL Championship games, Rob Edwards services should be dispensed with.
The article – a-managerial-change-might-be-in-the-pipeline – also contained the previously aforementioned poll.
The poll contained just the two option, a straight YES or NO to choose from, as I didn’t want anybody sitting on the fence.
Although I was a little hesitant about running the article, it is fair to say that the poll proved, when it comes to the number of votes cast, to be the most popular since I took over the editorial role over a decade ago.
Indeed, while it was running, I often dipped in and out to see which way it was going.
It is fair to say that it remained close throughout and with the poll now officially declared as being over I can reveal the result.
I can confirm that those who voted for NO, thereby opting to keep Rob Edwards in his current role, won with 54% of the votes cast compared to the 46% who thought it was time for a change and voted for the YES option.
Those who read the original article might have noticed that I gave no indication of my feelings, I didn’t want to, in any way, influence the vote.
But I can now reveal, I’m of the opinion Rob Edwards should be given a little more time to turn things around, possibly another 3 or 4 games.

Luton Town – Yet Another Disappointing Result Up In South Yorkshire
For me Watford is his crunch game he has to win it. And in convincing style or support will turn against him convincingly.
I’ll not argue with that Chris!
Next four games will decide his time as manager personally I can not see him keeping his job games coming up are tough just don’t see us winning any of them
I dont agree that we should be debating this here – its a fatuous discussion that only the Board has the right to debate – even Man U did not sack Ferguson when he performed so badly when he started with them. There is no way to guarantee a new manager bounce anyway – look how NJ performed when he went to Stoke and Southampton.
just got in from sunny tenerife, and can’t believe you all want to change the manager. surely the team needs changing, and lets see a whole team that want to play there hearts out. i have been an advocate for young players to be given a chance, maybe that time has arrived. the players need to show what they can do, what we know they can do. lets not go down the sacking manager root. lets ask gary sweet and the board what there opinion is. Jimbo, if you can get the board to say anything. Especially to the people who saved the the club I.E. supporters then your a better man than I am gunga din. Even though we are supposed to have a say in it’s running when have ltst or anyone from the board been brave enough to come out and say anything . Good luck with that one !!!!
i guess the extended contract for RE answers that question.ironic we are next playing the team that parted company with him ,before joining us. maybe we should get NJ back for a third attempt.??? COYH.
Whilst I understand where your coming from Jimbo.don’t you see that nj an re are the same coach. What is needed is a complete fresh outlook now we’ve had the same for over 5yrs it’s stale and people have worked us out time for a new approach.
