Luton Town Interested In Signing International Midfielder

It may be Sunday, a day of supposed rest, but that has not stopped a rumour surfacing suggesting the Hatters are looking at bringing an experienced midfielder to the club.

According to the Daily Mail, Luton Town are among a plethora of clubs, said to include Huddersfield Town and Derby County who are showing interest in acquiring the services of Conor Hourihane.

Hourihane, a 31-year-old Republic of Ireland international, is a free agent after his contract with the Premier League side, Aston Villa, expired.

If the Hatters could sign Hourihane it would be quite a coup.

However, my view is that it will depend on how high a salary Luton Town are prepared to pay to land their man.

Out of the other two clubs mentioned, I doubt whether the midfielder would be prepared to drop into League One when there is the offer of Championship football available.

So, is it a case of Nathan Jones persuasive tongue persuading Conor that Kenilworth Road is a better option than the John Smiths Stadium?

Hourihane would be a decent signing, his experience would be invaluable as we seek to improve on the sixth place we achieved last season and his ability to play that killer place would benefit Adebayo and Woodrow enormously.

I’ll keep an eye out for any further developments and report back as deemed necessary.

Hi mh, while snodgrass is still considering his options an therefore still a possibility of staying along with Jerome an lansbury that’s 3 senior players unless snods decides otherwise I say its unlikely.

Morning MH Am getting really confused if getting this man means loosing one of Lansbury, Berry or Snodgrass are we really going to gain much in midfield . If he does sign( highly unlikely) he will want to play every week giving the others limited opportunities Is this just paper talk?

it could be, speculation, in the media outlets, is increasing on a daily basis, although I’d like to see Hourihane at Kenilworth Road, I can’t help feeling that with all the other golden oldies, we’d start to resemble a DADS ARMY of the Championship!

what happened to the transfer speculation team sheet MH, i haven’t seen it lately, did we fill all 11 places ? It was a good idea and would have been good to look back at come the start of the season
