In recent games, it is fair to say that the Hatters have had more than their fair share of injuries.

The lack of a Lokonga or Nakamba, in front of the defence, has seen the Hatters struggle when trying to keep the opposition at bay, a point proven in the heavy defeat suffered at the hands of Manchester City in the FA Cup where Haaland was given the opportunity to run rampant.

The Hatters have also missed Adebayo with the striker in a rich vein of form before picking up a hamstring problem, there’s no doubting we’ve missed his physical presence and scoring prowess.

In defence, we still await to hear news on whether Lockyer will play again, with the decision probably lying in thehands of the medical team who have dealt with his problem. Matters have ben further hindeed with Anderson being a long term injury problem and Potts being sidelined with a hamstring problem.

Unfortunately matters appeared to be compounded when both Osho and Mengi were substituted during the fixture against Crystal Palace, hopefully nothing too serious.

But perhaps the biggest concern relates to Ross Barkley.

Our influential midfielder, early on in the game, picked up a bad nose injury which, from afar, looked to be a badly broken nose.

With the re-arranged AFC Bournemouth fixture, in midweek, it looks as if it will, once again, be a case of assessing who is fit enough to play and we may well see some square pegs in round holes.

Hopeully, Ross can be patched up, possibly playing with a Zorro style mask, if the damage is not too bad. But, as for the heart of the defence, it is, currently, anyone’s guess.
