Luton Town – First Signing Of The Summer Confirmed

Sat indoors on what must be one of the wettest Saturdays of the year, so far, some great news popped up on my screen.

After discussing the speculation this morning, relating to free-transfer-midfielder-on-hatters-radar the Official Site confirmed that the former Brentford midfielder, Shandon Baptiste, has signed on the dotted line and becomes Luton Town’s first signing of the summer.

Talking about his latest aquisition and as reported by the Official Site, Rob Edwards positively enthused about acquiring the services of the 19-year-old, remarking:

“We’re really excited to get Shandon in. I know I always say this about our players, but he’s a great person.

“I’ve had a few chats with him and he was really keen on joining us, it wasn’t a hard sell for me. I think he’s seen from the outside what we’re about and wanted to join and help us.

“He’s such a talented footballer. He’s someone who can take the ball, he can drive past people. I think he’s an exciting player, and technically very good, so we’re looking forward to getting him into the group.”

Baptiste will, in my opinion, be an excellent addition to the squad after the departures of Ross Barkley, Luke Berry and Albert Sambi Lokongo.

Hopefully, Shandon can proide that spark and determination that Luton Town will need to make an instant return to the Premier League, next May.

Welcome to Kenilworth Road Shandon, may your stay be an enjoyable and successful one.
