Since becoming the manager of Luton Town Football Club, Nathan Jones has been like a breath of fresh air.

His managerial acumen has seen the Hatters climb out of League Two and there is every expectation that the club, under the guidance of Jones, can make it back-to-back promotion campaigns thereby seeing a return to the Championship, in May.

However, in being one of the managerial leading lights, in the lower divisions, we’ve always feared that a club from the Championship, or even the Premier League, could move in to lure the Welshman away from Kenilworth Road.

Today, speculation has appeared in the Daily Mail, implying that the Championship side, Stoke City, want Nathan Jones to take over from Gary Rowett who was axed earlier this week after a series of poor results.

Jones has often spoken about being with Luton Town Football Club for the long term, I guess we’re now about to see if the lure of a job with a club that were a Premier League one, until last May, is too great to turn down.
