Luton Town – A Risky But Perfect Signing In My View

It is around this time of the year that what I call the ‘silly season’ starts.

A period where we all have our fantasies as to who we would like Luton Town to sign this summer.

Some of the suggestions are, to put it mildly, fanciful, while others have a chance, often slim, of coming to fruition.

Towards the back end of last week, Tottenham Hotspur released their list of retained players.

Now, already this weekend, I’ve covered the inference that Luton Town have been linked with a possible move for – Japhet Tanganga – but, it is another player on Tottenham’s released list that interests me, Ryan Sessegnon.

Sessegnon sprung to prominence, while still a teenager, at Fulham, and, at one time, was considered as a possible candidate to play for England at the 2018 World Cup.

In August 2019, Sessegnon was signed by Tottenham Hotspur for a fee reported to be in the region of £25 million.

But, sadly, his career did not blossom as much as many people thought it would, with his career with the North London club being blighted by injury.

Now 24-years-of-age, Ryan is looking for a club where he can get return to full fitness and start to rebuild his career, could Kenilworth Road be the perfect sanctuary for this attacking left-sided player?

Although there are concerns about his injury record, did we not have the same concerns when it came to Ross Barkley and look how that one turned out.

Perhaps it may be a fanciful idea to see Ryan at Kenilworth Road, but I would appreciate your views, on the subject matter, in the comment facility beneath this article.

I think this is another smith Rowe situation would he drop a div and wages and agents fees.but agree he would be a good addition.

agree with you chris, could be an exciting addition. injuries have been such a problem this season, think that might influence any decisions. COYH.

Just been looking at the release of all the premier players and there are any number of players who are good enough if we choose to go for them. Plus the players overseas we are monitoring. So I’m sure we will strengthen our team from what s available without going down the leagues looking for kids anymore. Plus we must give our Taylor macatee Johnson an the like a chance next season.

  • Mike says:

New players need to be better if you want to go back up
You can use the likes of Taylor Macatee Johnson from the bench to see if they are good to start a game only time will be on there side to make the grade we will wait and see ?

  • Scotty says:

Taylor already showed he is good enough. The club must think he’s good enough to have thrown him on in a play-off final! He played very well even in that pressure game. He is very much like Szmocdics. Small, quick and takes up good positions and a good finisher. Would be a perfect foil for Morris and Adebayo or someone else who is strong and very tall like Eli.
