I have no doubt that our 18-year-old defender, Joe Johnson will have a very successful career.
A product of the Hatters Acadamy, the youngster has already made great strides in his career, playing for the Hatters while also being selected for the England U17 and U18 sides.
Indeed, when Joe made his Luton Town first team debut, as a substitute, back on 24-April-2023, he became the first graduate from the Luton Academy to make a first team appearance for 15 years.
Last season he added to his tally by making a further 3 appearances in the Premier League and has also made appearances in both the domestic cups since that breakthrough appearance back in April 2023.
In every game he has played it is fair to say he has not looked out of place and has more than held his own.
But what lies in store for Joe this season?
There’s no doubt that Joe will only improve if he is able to get more first team opportunities, but you have to ask yourself just how many starts he is likely to get for the Hatters next season?
Will it be more or less than double figures?
Or perhaps, when it comes to gaining experience and improving further, could a better option be to send him out on loan to, say, a League One side, but on the premise that he will be played regularly?
What are your views on the subject matter?

Luton Town – The Great Manager Debate Starts Here
I watched Joe closely in the recent preseason friendly and was really impressed. His positional know how, tackling and distribution are excellent . I believe that he is ready to go into the first team with us and not to be loaned out.
Personally I think we are still light in that department to many injury prone players keep him here as I believe he will get opportunities this season.
I also watched that game and thought the same.
surely you are not suggesting one of our young players making it to the first team.sorry will never happen.COYH.
