After the disappointment of being routed 4-0, at Port Vale, on Saturday, the Hatters got back to winning ways in spectacular fashion against Lincoln City, at Kenilworth Road, this afternoon.

Down to ten-men as early as the fourth minute, the Hatters trailed 1-0 and then 2-1 before, eventually, ending up 4-2 winners.

The early dismissal of Alan Sheehan who was shown a straight red-card after appearing to throw a punch at Lincoln`s Rhead, also saw Luton go behind as well with Bostwick finishing with aplomb from the resulting free-kick.

But the Hatters battled on and were deservedly level when, in the thirty-second minute, James Collins scored.

Two minutes later though the Hatters fell 2-1 behind when Green scored and it looked as if Lincoln had the upper hand.

But four minutes later Lincoln City were also reduced to ten-men when Anderson received his second yellow card of the afternoon.

With both sides a man light, it was Luton who were to grab control of the match when, just before the break, James Justin was on hand to level it at 2-2.

The second half was as equally as entertaining as the first half with two teams both in good form looking for the win.

But, in the seventy-second minute it was the Hatters who were to edge ahead for the first time in the game when Danny Hylton stooped low to head home a deflected cross.

With the Hatters now in control, it was to be Luton who went on to wrap the match up when, with eighty-two minutes played, Harry Cornick produced a cracking finish to make it 4-2.

Luton, with Notts County winning 1-0 at home to Port Vale with a late winner, stay four-points clear at the top of the League Two table.

The next game for the Hatters is a titanic FA Cup 3rd round tie away to Newcastle, with the Hatters set to descend on Tyneside in their thousands.
