Entering Kenilworth Road, hopes were high that the Hatters could capitalise on their good start to the season with another good display.
But little did we know what lay around the corner.
From the off, Birmingham City were the better side and took the lead as early as the 7th minute when Marc Roberts rose to head them in front.
Matters got worse for Luton in the 26th minute when Scott Hogan doubled Birmingham’s lead.
2-0 down at the break, any hopes of a second half comeback were dashed when, in the 47th minute, Hogan got his second goal of the game, converting a cross from the outstanding Tahith Chong.
As the game wore on and the Hatters defence looking hapless, Gary Gardner made it 4-0 and with the crowd starting to drift away Luton’s misery was completed when Chuks Anele made it 5-0.
Not a happy day for the Hatters, in fact it was one of those days you just want to forget.

You’ve got the score rang it was 0-5 blues.
The vacancy you are applying for is already filled sadly. May I suggest that you apply for the job a little closer to home and with like minded people. You will be much more at home there.
Not applying for any vacancies. Just pointing out facts. It was 0-5 Birmingham at the top it says 0-4.
And Also The Internet is called the World Wide Web for a reason it’s world wide no need to stay local 🤣
error now corrected, it was a typo Blue Nose!
Can’t believe that we got got beat by Birmingham and so heavily , a team that’s been relegation fodder for the last few years . Why do we always make it so hard for ourselves that early goal and from set plays again . Got to make changes for the next game but who does he bring in ?????
No matter what problems Birmingham City have they will always be better then Luton.
And this team will be extremely good this season make my words.
The Hatters beaten so badly there to take their hats off to us 0-5 🤣
Did anyone see lukaku perform today god, premier defenders will be quaking in their boots the man is a beast. Alan take note Jerome is a pale imitation 😂 what a player. Let’s hope Jerome gets the chance to imitate him.
I saw him, he is the finished article, shrugged defenders off as if they weren’t there!
Take note for what ?????????
MONEY TALKS.COYH.
Way cool, what you saw Saturday was an inept manager who set up the wrong tactics an wrong team selection for the game. An quite rightly you spanked us good. No argument about that. He’s coming out with more s**t now than a bear with the trots. Inexperienced players 😁 need time yet he left players like Jerome on the bench. I know he played for you an you’ll laugh an say he’s rubbish. But he give defenders a hard time even you would admit that surely.
