Luton Town 0 Birmingham City 5

Entering Kenilworth Road, hopes were high that the Hatters could capitalise on their good start to the season with another good display.

But little did we know what lay around the corner.

From the off, Birmingham City were the better side and took the lead as early as the 7th minute when Marc Roberts rose to head them in front.

Matters got worse for Luton in the 26th minute when Scott Hogan doubled Birmingham’s lead.

2-0 down at the break, any hopes of a second half comeback were dashed when, in the 47th minute, Hogan got his second goal of the game, converting a cross from the outstanding Tahith Chong.

As the game wore on and the Hatters defence looking hapless, Gary Gardner made it 4-0 and with the crowd starting to drift away Luton’s misery was completed when Chuks Anele made it 5-0.

Not a happy day for the Hatters, in fact it was one of those days you just want to forget.
