The last 24 hours, with regards to the transfer market, have seen Newcastle’s quest to sign a striker intensify.

After being knocked out of the FA Cup, by the League One side Cambridge United, and with only ONE win in all competitions all season, Newcastle are desperate to sign a striker.

The desperation has been increased as the club are unable to call upon the services of their top scorer, Callum Wilson, who is out of action for as long as two months courtesy of a calf injury.

As 2022 arrived, speculation emerged that our very own Elijah Adebayo was on their wish list, something we covered in the following article – luton-could-lose-this-striker-in-the-january-transfer-window.

Whilst we were keen to dismiss such gossip there was always the fear that a big money offer could tempt the Hatters to sell.

Thankfully, with Newcastle keen to purchase a striker, before they play Watford this weekend, their attention seems to have switched towards other targets with The Telegraph, championing the inference that Burnley’s Chris Wood is their latest target while according to Sky Sports, the Reims forward, Hugo Ekitike, is another target.

Now I have no objections as to whom Newcastle might sign, it can be any old Tom, Dick and Harry as long as that fax machine at Kenilworth Road, if that’s what they still use these days, doesn’t pump out something with Newcastle United’s crest at the top of the page!

Hi MD , let’s Wait until the window is shut and he is still here , would hate to see him move just yet as I feel he has so much more to give us this season and where would we get player in the same class as him for the money that we would pay out . Could be some sleepless nights till January 31st. Coyh
