With the Hatters squad starting to take shape for the hugely anticipated 2021/2022 Championship season, it would not surprise us if there were some more departures before the new season starts.

Just recently, speculation has continued that Gabriel Osho, as covered by Football League World that Gabriel Osho could be one of those heading for the Kenilworth Road exit.

The consensus, among the media, is that Osho could struggle to get first team football after the recent arrival of Reece Burke.

It was a subject, here at Vital Luton Town, we touched upon – another-defender-set-to-leave – earlier this month while also running a poll on the very same subject.

Our poll simply asked –

Should Luton Keep Gabriel Osho?

The response was emphatic with 75% of those who voted selecting the YES option.

Gabriel only arrived, on a free transfer, last summer and has yet to make his Luton debut having been sent out on loan to Yeovil and Rochdale.

It seems harsh to me for the club to even be considering letting the player go without having a chance to prove what he can do.

But, when it comes to Osho, it is not all negative from the media.

Delving deep, we found something in Luton Today, where the Hatter skipper, Sonny Bradley, is quoted as having remarked about Osho and another young defender, Peter Kioso:

“If they’ve got good characters, which I know they have, if they have good attitudes and perform well, then there’s no reason why they can’t break into the squad and have an impact on the season.”

Which, to me, would infer Osho is part of the clubs plans for the coming season.

It is a strange situation, obviously the club are having to manage the budget and Osho’s future could be decided by further comings and goings at Kenilworth Road.

All we can do is wait and see but I am in the group that would like to see him given a chance next season, if the opportunity arises.
