Leeds are believed to have made a bid for an unnamed Luton striker. The striker, said to be ‘not a member of the first team squad currently’ is mooted as being Dean Morgan, whom Leeds have been trying to sign for about two years!

As Morgan is one of the players whose contractual wages are deemed as too high for the current status of the club, he will probably go for a very small fee.

Southend have shown no interest in keeping him on a permanent deal since his loan spell has not been very successful.

Meanwhile, Kevin Blackwell has confirmed that a bid from Colchester United for skipper Chris Coyne has been turned down. Coyney has also stated that he does not want to leave the club, so here’s hoping that he is still here in February.

The administrator, Brendan Guilfoyle, has confirmed that no squad players are going ‘cheaply’, so the vultures circling Kenilworth Road could be set for disappointment.
