Luton have announced the loan signing of Northampton Town’s experienced Central Defender, Craig Hinton, too boost cover for the role.

Rumours emanating from York City suggested that they were trying to fight off an approach by Luton for their Defender David McGurk, who, when told of the interest, had expressed his desire to join the Hatters, but with the Loan Window closing today and no deal agreed, Richard Money moved quickly to secure cover in the shape of Hinton. Perhaps by the January transfer window a permanent deal for McGurk may develop.

Meanwhile, Newport County f.c seem sure that their winger Charlie Henry will also join the Hatters on loan with an undisclosed fee agreed for January, but as yet no confirmation has come from the Luton camp.

Hinton, 32, a veteran of over 450 League matches, joins until 4th January and is not cup-tied so will go straight into the squad for Saturday’s FA Cup 2nd round match at Charlton.
