Luton Reach The League Cup 3rd Round For The First Time In 12 Years

|

Last night, those Luton supporters who travelled to South Wales, for the Carabao Cup 2nd round tie, witnessed the Hatters fine recent form continue.

The Hatters emerged 3-0 victors, against Cardiff City, and in doing so qualified for the 3rd round of the competition for the first time in 12 years.

Now whilst I’ll openly admit that the Championship remains our priority this season, there’s nothing to say that the club won’t benefit from a decent run in the domestic cup competitions.

After a difficult start to life in the Championship, the club needs a few wins to boost confidence.

At the moment, with victories against Barnsley and now Cardiff City, in recent days, that is precisely what they are doing as they head towards a crucial clash with Huddersfield Town, at Kenilworth Road, this Saturday.

With the win from last night under our belts, is it too much to hope for a decent draw in the third round?

Whilst I’d welcome a top Premier League team wouldn’t it be nice to welcome Watford to Kenilworth Road, it seems an absolute age since we played them in a competitive match.
